Mount Mercy to offer classes in Monticello for working adults

Mount Mercy College will hold an informational open house on Thursday, January 14  from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the Jones Regional Educational Center, Kirkwood Community College’s new facility in Monticello, located at 220 Welter Drive.

Beginning Spring 2010, Mount Mercy will offer courses and majors for adults in business and applied management through the Advance@ Mount Mercy program at the Kirkwood facility. Mount Mercy faculty will teach at the new facility, offering convenient and flexible class schedules that allow adult students to balance classes, work and family.

Students with an Associate degree can earn a Bachelor degree. Up to 75 credit hours from an accredited community college can be transferred to Mount Mercy. Courses are offered one night per week for five-, eight-, or ten- weeks.

“Mount Mercy is excited to offer classes at the Kirkwood facility in Monticello,” says Tom Castle, dean of the Mount Mercy Institute. “We are able to bring Mount Mercy’s personalized adult accelerated education to the Monticello area, offering adult students in the area the opportunity to earn a 4-year, quality degree and advance their careers.”
